Meet the Maker #1 – Rebecca Tracey

As a team of women here, it felt only right to kick start the series off to Meet the Maker with Rebecca Tracey – a beautifully crafted candle and scent brand that is based just down the road from us in Stratford-upon-Avon.

These scents are absolutely gorgeous and the natural ingredients and essential oils that they use means that the scent is impactful and long-lasting; something we are constantly on the hunt for when out buying candles for our own homes and offices.

These are quality products made by a quality team. We wanted to get to know more about the products themselves, the brand and of course, more about the enigmatic and inspiring Rebecca Tracey herself.

Hi Rebecca, firstly, we wanted to know…

Why did you start this brand?

We were restauranteurs in the South of Spain. Our restaurant made only fresh, homemade food – no microwaves or ready meals. A friend was creating natural organic perfumes in the South of France, and our ethos and viewpoints were aligned. When we sold the restaurants, we joined forces and began on our journey which had us leave Spain, and ultimately set up our boutique in Stratford upon Avon.

We love a travel story, especially when an idea pushes new opportunities to different shores! So why do you think people would want to buy or gift your products?

Everything is 100% pure and natural. There are no synthetics or chemicals used within any of our products – fragranced using only essential oils. They have a life force within them that can’t be created with manufactured scents and blends.

Which is your favourite candle scent at the moment?

Oakmoss & Sandalwood. It’s the perfect scent for the season. It’s earthy and deep, and the smell of the Oakmoss invokes feelings of walking through the woods on a crips autumnal morning.

Which is one of your bestsellers at the moment and why do you think that is?

The entire Florence range is so popular.  I created this during lockdown, and £5 from the sale of every candle went to the NHS, which I did for 18 months, but the fragrance is just so beautiful and uplifting. It’s a blend of tangerine, grapefruit, bergamot, neroli, rosemary & rosewood and I’m just obsessed with it!

Let’s find out more about you! How are you spending this Christmas?

We are flying home to Canada to be with my family this year. It’s the first time that my children will actually have a Canadian Christmas, so we’re hoping for lots of snow so we can take them to enjoy a proper white Christmas like I had growing up!

Do you have any Christmas Day traditions?

It’s always spent with family. The children wake us up far too early! The presents are opened, (we may go back to bed!! 🙂) and it’s a day of relaxing and enjoying each others company.

Silly but important question now… what’s the best part of a roast?

The potatoes and gravy – 100%

What’s your favourite memory from Christmas?

Christmas 2020 we flew to Florida on Christmas Day. We had a magical time exploring the Florida Keys in an American Winnebago, then met up with all of my family who flew down from Canada and the 16 of us had the best holiday together. That was the last time we were all together, so this Christmas is important – and we can’t wait to be with everyone again.

We can’t wait to see you, your team and these delicious products at our fair! Thank you for being our first Meet the Maker!

To meet the team and smell the products for yourselves at our fair, remember to get your tickets before they all sell out!

Look out next week for our next in the series of Meet the Maker.
